What are you paying for gold?

We dont have set rates. The price of gold fluctuates so we evaluate your items in two ways. Those items in good condition are evaluated for their resale potential. Scrap jewelry is melted back to full purity. Basically, we offer the most for your gold based on its resale potential, the gold spot price of the day, the weight of your item and its purity. Plus, we are one of the only companies that posts their prices and update them by the minute. Please see our pricing chart on the home page.

What type of items does Gold Pros buy?

All sorts! And more than just gold. Gold Pros buys any items containing diamonds or precious metals such as platinum or silver! How long does the process take?

We have the same day appraisal guarantee! And normally our process takes as little as 24 hours to complete. If your material requires specialized testing, it could take a bit longer. Generally though this only happens if you have industrial or medical material that is platinum but shows traces of non-PGM metals.

How long after you receive my package should I expect an offer?

We promise to make our offer within 24 hours from the time we receive your package!

After I accept my offer, how long does it take to get paid?

Payment is always issued within 24 hours by company check.

Do you have any storefront locations?

How do I know my items are safe?

Be assured that your valuables are always safe, secure and always insured! And it doesnt stop there. Once it arrives, we open your package on videotape and then secure your items in a state-of-art security safe.

Is my shipment insured?

Of course! Use your FREE FedEx® shipping label included in your appraisal kit and it’s automatically insured up to $10,000! If you need more insurance just give us a call so we can accommodate you.

What if I am sending bulky or highly valuable items?

No problem! Were always here to help. Simply give us a call at 1 (866)-374-5210 so we can arrange for FedEx® to pick it up at your convenience.

How do I know if my item is real gold, silver or platinum?

First look to see if the item has markings, otherwise known as hallmarks. Some examples of these are 14KT, 585, 10KT, 417, 925 etc. Next, you can take a strong magnet to it. If the magnet picks it up, it does not contain solid gold, silver or platinum. However, if the clasp on a chain is magnetic but the chain is not, it may be real. And if youre not sure you can always send it in and well test it for you at no cost.

Is the appraisal kit free?

Absolutely! There is not a fee for you to receive the appraisal kit.

What are my payment options?

Payment is by company check sent via the US Postal Service.

What if I do not like my offer, do I have to pay for my items to be returned?

Absolutely not! We guarantee your satisfaction. There is never a risk or obligation. Were committed to happy customers. If you’re not happy with our offer, we will safely return your items for FREE.

What happens if I am unhappy with the amount of my offer and I want my items back?

What common jewelry items do you not buy?

We don’t buy costume jewelry, pearls, loose semi-precious stones or anything plated or filled.

How do I know if my item is real gold, silver or platinum?

If the magnet picks it up, it does not contain solid gold, silver or platinum. However, if the clasp on a chain is magnetic but the chain is not, it may be real. And if you’re not sure you can always send it in and we’ll test it for you at no cost.

Do you buy gold filled or gold plated items?

Unfortunately no. The cost to refine these items is prohibitive relative to precious metal content. If an item is a gold plated over sterling silver, then we would be able to buy it for the value of the silver.

Do you buy diamonds?

Yes! We have a GIA Diamond Graduate on staff to accurately appraise your diamonds, allowing us to get the best possible price for our customers. Diamonds 0.10 carats or larger have value as individual stones.

Do you buy silver?

Yes, we do! We accept anything that is fine .999 silver or sterling silver .925. We do not buy silver plated items. In order to offer you the most for your silver, we recommend that you send it in with some gold or platinum. The reason for this is because gold and platinum are far more valuable per unit of weight than silver. If you ship silver alone, our shipping costs may offset the value of the silver. If you include some gold and/or platinum, we are able to pay even more for the silver. Basically, we want to be able to offer you more.

Do you accept dental gold?

We do! We accept any dental material containing gold.

Do you buy coins?

We sure do! Any coins that are gold, platinum, or silver. We also don’t buy coins that are stamped with the word COPY or mills. If you’re not sure, you can always give us a call. We’re here to help!
